Bhisham Nihchalani
Meet the CEO
The Nihchalani family business Bharat LTD was established in 1986 .
Bhisham became head of the family business/ Bharat LTD 25 years ago at this time the business was a small store stocking fast fashion called BonBon 2.
Bhisham was a young Entrepreneur and at just 19 he would drive the local family wholesale business selling Duracell, Kodak, Razors and Pens to all the local traders in Main Street Gibraltar .
In 1996 Bhisham opened his first store named Trends located at 325, Main Street . The store hosted ladies Paris fashion lines purchased direct from Paris unique to Gibraltar.
In 1998 Bhisham added a new store to his ever growing portfolio. Once again he stocked fast fashion but with the welcomed addition of Men’s clothing.
Bhisham met his future wife in 2002 and they married in 2003 .
Together they continued to expand the family business working together opening 12, Casemates square along with 70,Main street better known today as our Outlet and Foot on Mars .
In April 2015 Bhisham purchased / bought into The local Perfume group Star of India established in 1893. Bhisham and his partners then opened The Chanel Beauty Boutique in June 2019.

Trends flagship Department Store
Located at 84-90 Main Street, we opened the doors to our flagship department store on November 10th 2016. With over 2500 SQM of shopping under one roof, Trends is our largest store and the largest single clothing establishment in Gibraltar which stocks a range of global brands including Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Guess, Ralph Lauren and many more.
Eastgate
Established in 1997, logistics company Eastgate is a well known locally based Freight Forwarder Offering UK to Gibraltar weekly Trailers. The company’s logistics solutions and distribution services connect Gibraltar with the wider world, and their wealth of experience has made them one of The Rock’s most trusted organisations.
Star of India
Both Star of India and its sister store HOTU resides at the heart of Main Street in Gibraltar. With an outlet located at the Port of Gibraltar, one of the main entry and exit points to town, the store is in the line of thousands of tourists. Market penetration is predominantly tourists; cruise liner and day trippers as well as local trade.
